Learning About Bats & Bat Biscuit Sale - Friday 10th May

During our school worship on Friday, Ms White kindly came in to school and made a short presentation about bats. As Ms White is a Bat Ecologist, she had some fascinating facts for us. She explained where bats live, how bat specialists can find them, how bats fly in the dark, why bats are important and how we can protect them.

Throughout the week, every child made bat-shaped biscuits. These were sold at the end of the school day on Friday by the Owl reading group from Ladybird Class, and we raised a whopping £193.37!  The children had been hoping to adopt a bat from the Bat Conservation Trust, but this money will help us adopt more than one. The money donated will help make a real difference to bats in the wild and help save our endangered bat species and their habitats.
