Easter Service

Easter Service at All Saints Church - Wednesday 29th March

On Wednesday we all set out for the church to celebrate Easter together. It was wonderful to have so many parents, carers, grandparents and siblings join us to fill the church.

The Worship Leaders did a wonderful job, telling us the Easter Story letter by letter to spell out the word 'Easter'. They told us about Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem on a donkey with everyone waving palms and greeting him with 'Hosanna! Hosanna!, Here comes the King.' to his arrest and execution and finally the resurrection on Easter Sunday.

As Revd Dave said, the story starts out happy, gets a bit sad in the middle, but it all works out in the end!

We also joined together to sing 'Lord of the Dance' and 'We have a King who rides a Donkey' and some of the Year 2 children performed an extremely joyful dance to Easter Jubilation.

The Worship Leaders explained the symbolism of the Hot Cross Bun - the cross to remind us that Jesus died on the cross for us, the spices to remind us of the spices and oils he was anointed with when he died and the yeast to remind us that he rose again. At the end of the school day every child received a Hot Cross bun to take home.

It did feel like a very joyful celebration of this very special time for Christians.

A huge thank you to the Year 2s for leading such a wonderful service, to the All Saints team for welcoming us so wonderfully and for all the parents who volunteered to walk with us.

You can see the photos of the service here.
