Marlow Church of England Infant School

World Book day

We had a wonderful cast of characters in school today for World Book Day.

World Book Day was created by UNESCO on 23rd April 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading. It is marked in over 100 countries around the globe.

The first World Book Day in the UK and Ireland took place in 1997 to encourage young people to discover the pleasure of reading and so this year is the 25th year there’s been a World Book Day.

We all really enjoyed seeing the wonderful costumes.  Thank you to parents and carers for supporting us in this, the creativity and the variety of books that the children had chosen to represent brightened up the day.
