Happy New Year! I hope that you all had chance to have some special time with family and friends over the Christmas break.
We have been so pleased to welcome the children back to school this week, and it has, as always, been a busy one. The children have been learning all about the school vision and values and creating reflection areas in their classrooms. We are particularly excited about the tree/cross that they have been making with Miss Bolar which will be hung in the hall as a whole school reflection focus.
By next Friday our class homepages for this half-term will be live on the school website. As parents know, you can sign in to the class home pages and find information about this half-term's learning and updated class timetables. There are also links to all the online platforms that we use which are available for the children to access at home. Next Friday will also see the start of this half-term's weekly home learning which will go live on Google Classroom (KS1) or Tapestry (Reception). This home learning is to support parents who wish to do additional learning at home with their children. (it is not compulsory).
Grasshopper parents may have noticed a new addition to their class' teaching team this week. Miss Mitchell has joined Sandygate for this term as a trainee teacher. She will be working with Mrs Browning to plan and teach learning for the Grasshopper children until the Easter holidays. So now we have a Mrs Mitchell and a Miss Mitchell in Year 2!
