Friday 3rd December

In school this week

The Christmas preparations are in full flow in school and the children are enjoying practising their Christmas songs and Nativity plays.

Our Christmas displays are now up in the school Hall and the Teaching Assistants put up our Christmas decorations this week. Thank you to the PFA who created our Advent Wreath at the wreath making workshop on Monday.

We started the Countdown to Christmas with our Advent Service at All Saints on Wednesday. I was so proud of the Worship Leaders, they confidently spoke and sang in front of a church full of their peers and adults.  We had a wonderful welcome from Reverend Dave and Matt Clark as well!

Year 1 had a lovely day at Windsor Castle today and we will post some pictures next week.

Earlier this afternoon you should have had a letter from me about cases of Covid in school. We are still below the levels outlined in the school Outbreak Management Plan but I wanted to keep parents informed about what was actually happening in school. As you will see from my letter, my contact at Buckinghamshire Public Health pointed out that the measures that we have in place at school seem to be working well and that currently no additional measures needed to be put in place. Once you have read my letter, if you have any questions, please do contact the school office.

Next week, we will be starting some of our charity fundraising with Christmas Jumper Day on Friday! The school council are keen to see all the different jumpers (as am I).

PFA News

Thank you so much for all the positive feedback surrounding the wreath making workshop. A vey big thank you goes to Daphne and Beth for organising a fantastic evening.  It was great to see the Christmassy creations that were made.

Sandygate Christmas raffle and silent auction are now live.  Raffle tickets should have been received in your child's school bag. Please return them to the red PFA post box in the main school office.  Please return all unsold tickets here too.  The link for the silent auction is https://www.jumblebee.co.uk/sandygate2021.  There are lots of fantastic prizes to win and still time to place your bid.

The donations you all brought yesterday are wonderful.  Thank you very much. They will make great raffle prizes for the Big Sing. We will post some pictures after the event has taken place.

The disco Santa gifts are today in your child’s school bag, as Year 1 are on their trip today their gifts will be sent home on Monday.  We hope they like them and the small bag of sweets included.  We are sorry to have had to postpone until Spring 2022.

Thank you to everyone that came to say hello to us at our Late Night Shopping stall last night.  This was the first time we have teamed up with Holy Trinity PTA to run an event and it was really lovely to work together as a joint committee.  We look forward to holding more shared ventures with them in the future.
