The children have been really inspired by Refugee Week and have taken their walking very seriously indeed. You will see from the article below that their fundraising has been a great success.
We have been finalising our staffing for next year this week, and I am pleased to say that we are currently fully staffed for the autumn term. Sadly, however, Mrs Fearn and Mrs King will be leaving us at the end of this term. Mrs King has been part of the Sandygate family for 3 years and has been a valued member of the Year 1 team for 2 of those years. She will be taking up a part-time role and spending time with her daughter. Mrs Fearn has been Assistant Headteacher at Marlow Infants for 2 years and has contributed as a class teacher and on a whole school level. Mrs Fearn will be taking on a role in a school near to her home which will allow her more time with her family. I have enjoyed working with both Mrs Fearn and Mrs King, and I am sorry that they are moving on, but I am sure that you will join me in wishing them well for the future.
From September, I am thrilled to let you know that we have appointed Mrs Howarth as Assistant Headteacher. She will be taking on the role as Key Stage 1 and Curriculum lead. Mrs Howarth will already be known to many of you and I and the rest of the Senior Leadership Team look forward to working with her in this capacity.
We will shortly be sending out a separate email which details the roles and responsibilities in the school from September 2021.
