Catch-up Learning
We have now identified all the areas for catch-up learning for individual children and for year groups as a whole. Across the school our main area for catch-up is Maths, and we will be focussing on this during the summer term.
Where we have identified specific areas of catch-up learning for individual children, teachers will be contacting parents in next week to advise them of the additional work we will be doing with them in school and how this can be supported at home.
In general, the children have made great progress, and we thank all parents for the work they did at home during the Lockdown.
Home Learning
We would remind parents that, though we are now back at school, home learning continues to be set on Google Classroom or Tapestry in line with our school's home learning policy. As we will be working on filling the gaps in children's learning over the next term, we will be expecting that children access their home learning at least once a week. The work set will further help them catch up on missed learning due to the Lockdown.
Reading practice is a must with a focus on developing fluency and comprehension in Key Stage 1 and in Reception, parents can help children to use their phonics to work out words that they don't know.
