Fundraising Update
September was a time of some trepidation the PFA. Social distancing and a plethora of additional measures meant that we knew we wouldn’t be able to fundraise in quite the same way and yet the school still needed our support, now so more than ever. Whilst keeping every-one safe was clearly and absolutely the most important thing, we were worried about the knock-on effect on our fundraising and the longer-term impact this would have on the school.
But my goodness Sandygate parents you are all superstars! Put yourselves on the Rainbow immediately! You have all stepped up and supported us in a way that we have never seen before and we are gobsmacked by your generosity and your support.
In total this term we have raised a staggering (and we mean mind-blowingly awesome) £18,605 and the 12-Days of Christmas alone raised £5,347. To give you some context, our average for the Autumn Term is around £8,000-£9,000 and best ever year prior to this saw us raise just over £12,000. Our commitment to the school each year is £26,000 so we are already over 70% of the way there, after only one term.
This has come from a variety of different sources, not only the events such as the 12-Days of Christmas and the Light Trial but also Bag2School, Donut Day, Calendars, Christmas Cards and Hoodies alongside financial donations from both parents and the companies they work for. It’s been staggering and we are so so grateful.
This is especially fantastic news given the uncertainly we now, once again, face and means we all have a little breathing room over the coming term. There will still be a few things going on (of course!) and we will communicate those with you very soon but for now, a huge and heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you from all of us on the PFA Committee.
