19th December 2025

In school this week

This morning we held our Christmas by Candlelight, and it was a wonderful way to end the term. The children were really excited to have a special visit from Father Christmas! We are all very thankful that Father Christmas was able to make time for us and enjoyed chatting to the children and even told a joke!

The staff team have been amazing, as always, this year and I would like to thank them for their continuing dedication, going the extra mile to provide nurture and wonderful learning opportunities for the children.

We are so blessed with the support of a wonderful parent body, and we have been warmed by your generosity this Christmas. Not only in the form of gifts that have been sent into school for the staff, but also in the support through charitable giving.

My thanks also go to the PFA committee for their continued support of our school. They have raised an amazing amount of money for the school this term and have supported us by taking on a huge range of jobs, from providing refreshments for Open Mornings and Nativities to making 180 Christingle Candles. We really could not do what we do without them!

I would like to welcome the new families who will be joining us in the new year. We are looking forward to getting to know you and having you as members of our community.

Wishing you all a happy, peaceful and healthy Christmas, and we are looking forward to seeing you all in 2026.

Mrs Reynolds

General news & reminders

Baxter said, ' Our favourite book is Oi Puppies and I like the rhymes, ' while Oliver preferred the bit in the book where the cat and the frog didn't know what all the doggies were called. Aidan said, 'I like the cat. My brither likes the cat too.'

We hope you have enjoyed the book recommendations this half term.

Term Dates

The term dates for 2026–2027 have now been published on our school website and are available to download at the bottom of the page here.

Active Journey Week

Date: w/c 24th November

Each term we hold an Active Journey week (formerly known as 'Walk to School Week'), the aim of which is to raise awareness for and encourage more sustainable journeys to school.

During active journey week, we encourage parents/carers and children to walk, cycle, scoot to school. If you live further away from school, you can park your car further away from school than usual so that part of the journey can be walked (Park & Stride).

Every day, we ask the children to log how they came to school and during this week we will be trying to increase the number of active journeys. In Celebration Worship on Friday, there will be a trophy awarded to the class with the most active journeys during the week.

Safety Day

  •  Date: Tuesday 25th November

As part of our Active Journey week (formerly known as 'Walk to School Week') which takes place during the week of 24th November, we will be holding our annual Safety Day.

As part of the Safety Day, the children will be taking part in a range of activities which principally focus on safety around transport and roads. During the day, the children will all have a Scootability session which will teach them how to ride and use their scooters safely. There is no need to send children's scooters into school. Each child will be provided with a scooter and the necessary safety equipment for their session.

Other sessions include:

  • First Aid (provided by Dr McGurran)
  • Road Safety (provided by teachers)

Merry Christmas from the PFA

It seems like a while since the ‘Back to School BBQ’ at the start of this term – it’s been a very busy start to the school year! We hope that you’ve enjoyed it as much as we have, and we can’t quite believe how much we’ve managed to achieve.
