The Nativity practices started this week and I have loved hearing the children singing their Christmas songs! It won't be long before they do their actual performances.
The Advent service was fantastic on Tuesday, the worship leaders were wonderful and the rest of the school sang beautifully. It was definitely a great kick off to the Christmas season. The All Saints team gave us a warm welcome and I am hugely appreciative of the work that went into preparing the church for us.
On Wednesday, we presented the Cup for the most improved active Journeys during Active Journey Week (last week). The cup went to Butterfly Class who increased their Active Journeys by 10% over the week. As a school, we are now third amongst Buckinghamshire schools for the most improved active journeys!
I am pleased to say that the Academy Order from the DFE was granted this week. This came from the DFE and gives us permission to convert to an Academy and then enter the Marlow Education Trust. We now begin the process of preparing for this conversion, which is anticipated to happen at the beginning of April next year.

Baxter said, ' Our favourite book is Oi Puppies and I like the rhymes, ' while Oliver preferred the bit in the book where the cat and the frog didn't know what all the doggies were called. Aidan said, 'I like the cat. My brither likes the cat too.'
We hope you have enjoyed the book recommendations this half term.

Term Dates
The term dates for 2026–2027 have now been published on our school website and are available to download at the bottom of the page here.

Active Journey Week
Date: w/c 24th November
Each term we hold an Active Journey week (formerly known as 'Walk to School Week'), the aim of which is to raise awareness for and encourage more sustainable journeys to school.
During active journey week, we encourage parents/carers and children to walk, cycle, scoot to school. If you live further away from school, you can park your car further away from school than usual so that part of the journey can be walked (Park & Stride).
Every day, we ask the children to log how they came to school and during this week we will be trying to increase the number of active journeys. In Celebration Worship on Friday, there will be a trophy awarded to the class with the most active journeys during the week.

Safety Day

- Date: Tuesday 25th November
As part of our Active Journey week (formerly known as 'Walk to School Week') which takes place during the week of 24th November, we will be holding our annual Safety Day.
As part of the Safety Day, the children will be taking part in a range of activities which principally focus on safety around transport and roads. During the day, the children will all have a Scootability session which will teach them how to ride and use their scooters safely. There is no need to send children's scooters into school. Each child will be provided with a scooter and the necessary safety equipment for their session.
Other sessions include:
- First Aid (provided by Dr McGurran)
- Road Safety (provided by teachers)
Big Sing
This is now fully booked and those who were on the waiting list, and who we have managed to allocate tickets to, have been contacted by the school office. We are now at capacity, so unless someone pulls out, it is unlikely that there will be any more places become available.

Nativity memory bundle
We would like to offer families a chance to buy a digital photo of your child/ren dressed in their nativity costume, together with a video link to their child's nativity performance. This bundle is now available to purchase on ParentPay for £6.00

Christmas Lunch
Date: Friday 12th December
In school on 12th December, lunchtime will be very Christmassy as the children have the option to have Christmas lunch. Roast Turkey and stuffing baps are available to order on the Kids Lunch website – all you need to do is order this in the normal way.

Christmas Parties
Date: Thursday 18th December
Children are welcome to come to school dressed in festive party clothes on this day, as we will be having class Christmas parties!

Christmas Jumper Day
Date: Friday 12th December
This Friday, we will be taking part in Christmas Jumper Day to get into the Christmas Spirit, and help raise money for Save The Children.
On Christmas Jumper Day, children can come into school wearing a Christmas Jumper instead of their normal school jumper. This jumper doesn't have to be bought specially, it can be an existing jumper decorated so that it looks Christmassy.
Christmas Jumper Day will be raising money for Save the Children. We would like every child to make a donation of a £1. These donations can be made on our Just Giving page.
Lexia
This is a reminder for those children who attend Lexia sessions in the morning before school, next week is last week for Lexia until the new term.

End of term preparations
In order for us to audit our books before the end of term, we will be collecting them in as follows:
w/c 8th December- All library books collected in
Thursday 11th December -Phonics Readers collected in
Friday 12th December - Reading Books collected in
This means that there won't be any new books coming home until the beginning of the spring term.

Data Collection Sheet
Last week, the children brought home a data collection sheet. This sheet shows you the contact details that we hold for you on our management information system.
Please could you check the details.
Use the link below to let us know if the information is correct or not. If there is incorrect information, please make the changes on the sheet and return it to the school office. You do not need to send the sheet back to school if there aren't any changes needed.
We would appreciate it if parents/carers could complete this by Monday at which point we will start contacting you directly. So far we have had only 71 returned.
End of term preparations
Please could all children bring in a named carrier bag by Friday 12th December. This will be used for the children to bring home their Christmas creations towards the end of term.

Mindful Colouring Club
This club, led by Mrs Madziwa for Reception children is being run again next half term. It will take place every Thursday lunchtime. There are 15 spaces available and they will be offered on a first come, first served basis. If your child has attended before, they can be signed up again.

Spring term clubs
It's time to register your interest in our Key Stage 1 school-run clubs for next half-term. Bible Bricks attendees will automatically continue next half-term. If your child doesn't already go to Bible Bricks, they can join the others by signing up below.
All clubs run during lunchtime. Places are limited, therefore we will let you know if your child is offered a place. We will try to offer at least one club per child from their choices. If your child was not offered a club this term, they will automatically have joined the waiting list for next half-term, and will therefore be the first to have a place offered. Maypole Club
In January, Maypole club will be starting. This club is led by Mrs Reynolds and will take place every Thursday after school between 3.15pm and 3.45pm. We need a minimum of 12 children to make the club viable. Children who sign up for this club will take part in performances at the Summer Fair and Open Afternoon. This means that they will need to commit to the club for both the spring and summer terms.
So far, 10 children have signed up for the club – we still need 2 more children to sign up to be able to run the club.
If you would like your child to take part in Maypole Club, please sign up below.
