21st November 2025

In school this week

We are all looking forward to Active Journey next week, which starts on Monday, and I am definitely looking forward to getting a sticker on Friday - I just need to make sure that I walk to school at least 3 times over the week!

Can you believe Christmas is just over a month away? I am not sure where the time has gone to this half-term. Next week, we will be starting to practice our Advent Service with some Year 2 Worship Leaders, and we will be talking about how Advent is a busy time and sometimes people forget the real reason why we have Christmas. The worship leaders will be sharing this message in the service through a little role-play, to music. Do come along to the service if you can (details below) – it is a lovely way to start the Christmas season.

To continue with the Christmas theme, we are all excited about the school Christmas Disco which is taking place next weekend. It is one of the many fundraising activities, including the silent auction and the wreath making, organised by the PFA in the run-up to Christmas. I would like to thank the PFA for all their hard work in putting on such exciting activities, and also for supporting us in school during this time.

Our Safety Day on Tuesday offers children lots of opportunities to learn new skills and ways to keep themselves and others safe. There is more information below, and we will, of course, share some photos of the day.

General news & reminders

Baxter said, ' Our favourite book is Oi Puppies and I like the rhymes, ' while Oliver preferred the bit in the book where the cat and the frog didn't know what all the doggies were called. Aidan said, 'I like the cat. My brither likes the cat too.'

We hope you have enjoyed the book recommendations this half term.

Active Journey Week

Date: w/c 24th November

Each term we hold an Active Journey week (formerly known as 'Walk to School Week'), the aim of which is to raise awareness for and encourage more sustainable journeys to school.

During active journey week, we encourage parents/carers and children to walk, cycle, scoot to school. If you live further away from school, you can park your car further away from school than usual so that part of the journey can be walked (Park & Stride).

Every day, we ask the children to log how they came to school and during this week we will be trying to increase the number of active journeys. In Celebration Worship on Friday, there will be a trophy awarded to the class with the most active journeys during the week.

Christmas Jumper Day

Date: Friday 12th December

On Friday 12th December, we will be taking part in Christmas Jumper Day to get into the Christmas Spirit, and help raise money for Save The Children.

On Christmas Jumper Day, children can come into school wearing a Christmas Jumper instead of their normal school jumper. This jumper doesn't have to be bought specially, it can be an existing jumper decorated so that it looks Christmassy.

Christmas Jumper Day will be raising money for Save the Children. We would like every child to make a donation of a £1. These donations can be made on our Just Giving page.
