Nativity Plays
This year the Reception children will be performing The Wriggly Nativity and Key Stage 1 children will be performing Born in the Barn.
Each play will be performed twice due to the limited capacity of the school hall. This means that parents & carers can book a maximum of 2 tickets for only one performance. (If you have a child in Reception and in KS1, you can book tickets for one of each of the Reception and KS1 performances)
Please only book 2 tickets if both parents/carers can attend the performance. This will allow every family to be able to attend their child's nativity.
The performances are as follows:
Reception children:
- Reception Performance 1: Monday 15th December at 9.30am
- Reception Performance 2: Tuesday 16th December at 2.30pm
Years 1 & 2 children:
- KS1 Performance 1: Monday 15th December at 2pm
- KS1 Performance 2: Wednesday 17th December at 9.30am

Head Lice

Please take advantage of the half term break to check your child's hair, we have had a few cases of head lice in the Key Stage 1 classes.
- Checking for head lice shouldn’t be considered a big deal, it is just a normal part of a family’s personal hygiene routine like brushing teeth or washing hair
- It is best to check for head lice using a comb made for the purpose, ideally white so they can be easily seen and with teeth no more than 0.3mm apart in order to trap head lice
- Combing through the hair when wet, or after applying a conditioner, may make the process more comfortable
- Good lighting is important and so is comfort
If you find any lice, you can treat them in a variety of ways and you can find more information here.

Active Journey Week
Date: w/c 24th November
Each term we hold an Active Journey week (formerly known as 'Walk to School Week'), the aim of which is to raise awareness for and encourage more sustainable journeys to school.
During active journey week, we encourage parents/carers and children to walk, cycle, scoot to school. If you live further away from school, you can park your car further away from school than usual so that part of the journey can be walked (Park & Stride).
Every day, we ask the children to log how they came to school and during this week we will be trying to increase the number of active journeys. In Celebration Worship on Friday, there will be a trophy awarded to the class with the most active journeys during the week.

Safety Day

- Date: Tuesday 25th November
As part of our Active Journey week (formerly known as 'Walk to School Week') which takes place during the week of 24th November, we will be holding our annual Safety Day.
As part of the Safety Day, the children will be taking part in a range of activities which principally focus on safety around transport and roads. During the day, the children will all have a Scootability session which will teach them how to ride and use their scooters safely. There is no need to send children's scooters into school. Each child will be provided with a scooter and the necessary safety equipment for their session.
Other sessions include:
- First Aid (provided by Dr McGurran)
- Road Safety (provided by teachers)

Remembrance Day
Date: Tuesday 11th November
You will have seen us out selling poppies at the front of school in the lead up to Remembrance Day. We will continue to sell the poppies and other merchandise until the end of the day on Tuesday to help raise as much money as we can for the work of the British Legion.
The suggested donation for all items is £1. We also have a small supply of metal pin badges for adults, for a donation of £3.
To mark Remembrance Day, we will be holding a special collective worship on Tuesday. You can find out more about this and Remembrance Day in the news story above.

Odd Socks Day
Date: Thursday 13th November

Join us for Odd Socks Day to celebrate what makes us all unique and to raise awareness for Anti-Bullying Week.
We are encouraging all children to come into school wearing bright and colourful odd socks.
Odd Socks Day is all about embracing differences and spreading kindness. It is a simple way for children to learn that being different is something to be proud of!
No donations are needed – just a lot of smiles and odd socks!
Let's make our school a rainbow of odd socks and show that everybody is special in their own way.

Anti-Bullying Week
Date: w/c 14th November
This year, the theme for Anti-Bullying Week 2025 is 'Power for Good'. Our Rights Respecting Ambassadors will be leading school worship on Wednesday 12th November to tell the rest of the school all about it. The children will be learning about friendships and who to speak to if they need help.

We will also be holding Odd Socks Day in school on Thursday 13th November (see above)
