Head Lice

Please take advantage of the half term break to check your child's hair, we have had a few cases of head lice in the Key Stage 1 classes.
- Checking for head lice shouldn’t be considered a big deal, it is just a normal part of a family’s personal hygiene routine like brushing teeth or washing hair
- It is best to check for head lice using a comb made for the purpose, ideally white so they can be easily seen and with teeth no more than 0.3mm apart in order to trap head lice
- Combing through the hair when wet, or after applying a conditioner, may make the process more comfortable
- Good lighting is important and so is comfort
If you find any lice, you can treat them in a variety of ways and you can find more information here.

Pyjama Day is Coming!
Date: Friday 7th November
We are very excited to announce that this year we will be having a Pyjama Day! Children can wear their pyjamas to school but please make sure they will be warm enough and wear plenty of layers. The theme is “snuggling up in bed with a good book” — the perfect way to celebrate our love of reading.
As you know, we are so proud of our beautiful new library, and now we’d love to fill it with even more fantastic books for everyone to enjoy. With this in mind, we kindly ask that on Pyjama Day you either donate a book from our wishlist here or contribute a small amount towards buying new books for the library.
Thank you for helping us make our library a magical place for all our readers!

Flu Immunisation
New date: Friday 21st November
Unfortunately , the NHS nurses have had to change the date of our Flu immunisations. The new date is Friday 21st November in the afternoon.
If you wish your child to have the immunisation in school, please remember to give permission using the link sent in the separate email.

Book Looks' for Parents & Carers
We will be continuing the Book Looks that we introduced last year. The feedback from those parents and carers who came to look at their children's books at different points over the year was extremely positive.
This is an opportunity, outside parent consultations, for parents & carers to look at the learning the children have been doing over the year/half term. These are not additional parent consultations and you are encouraged to look at the books with your child. If you bring your child's siblings with you, it is important that they stay with you.
These opportunities will be on the following dates:

Thursday 4th December 3.30-4.00pm

Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2025
We received the traditional poppy boxes last week, so after half-term the school council and school staff will be selling the poppies and other merchandise outside school at drop-off and pick-up each day. The suggested donation for all items is £1. We also have a small supply of metal pin badges for adults, for a donation of £3.

Anti-Bullying Week
Anti-Bullying Week 2025 will take place in school from Monday 10th – Friday 14th November, with the theme 'Power for Good'. Our Rights Respecting Ambassadors will be leading school worship on Tuesday 11th November to tell the rest of the school all about it. The children will be learning about friendships and who to speak to if they need help.

We will also be holding Odd Socks Day in school on Thursday 13th November to raise awareness for anti - bullying week. All you need to do is wear odd socks. It's a great way to celebrate what makes us all unique in Anti-Bullying Week!
