5th September 2025

In school this week

The school has seemed really quiet without the Reception children this week, so we are looking forward to welcoming them on Monday morning!  The Reception teachers have enjoyed meeting the parents and carers of the new cohort over the last 2 days and have found the time spent with them very useful. I hope that you found it useful too.

The Key Stage 1 children have started to settle into their new classes and new routines and I have enjoyed seeing them so engaged and busy in class. Next week will be our first full week in school and all year groups will be starting their new topics.

Class home pages and home learning will be going live next Friday and there will be more details of how to access this in next week's newsletter. In Key Stage 1 the classes have specific Show & Tell days. This will be outlined on the class home pages but show & tell will not start until Friday 19th September.

Office Email Address

Over the summer, we completed an email and an IT migration which has moved most of our information and filing to the cloud. As part of this migration, the office email address has changed. It is now:

office@marlowinfant.uk

Please use this email address in all communications with the school.

Parking

Please can we ask parents and carers to remember to park safely and respectfully when they come to school for pick up and drop off.
There are zig zag lines at the front of school which should not be parked on, this is for the safety of pupils and other pedestrians.

Please also remember to respect our neighbours by only parking in public parking spaces, not on the pavements and avoiding parking in front of people's drives.

Pick Up

If you make a change to pick up arrangements, please let the office know by email or phone of the changes. We will not be able to release a child to someone that we are not expecting to pick them up.

As we start the new academic year, if you have regular arrangements for pick-up, please confirm these with the school office. Once this is set up, you won't have to tell us each week, we will continue with these arrangements until you inform us otherwise.

Curriculum Information Sessions

During this half-term, we will be holding information sessions for parents and carers. There will be a session for each year group. The aim of the sessions is to give you an overview of the curriculum for the year, including what children will be learning in maths and English, how the subjects will be taught and what assessments will be undertaken. Ideas for how you can support your children at home will also be shared.

All sessions start at 7.00pm and the dates for the sessions are as follows:

Reception - Wednesday 17th September

Year 1 – Wednesday 24th September

Year 2 – Wednesday 1st October

You can sign up for your year group session in the relevant section below.

Sandygate Sunday

  • Date: Sunday 28th September 11.00am-12 noon

Once a term, we are invited to take part in the 10.59 service at All Saints Church. Some of our pupils will read prayers they have written, and we lead the congregation in one of the songs we sing in school.

All Sandygate families are welcome to come along to the service. We ask that children wear their red jumpers/cardigans to identify them as Marlow Infant pupils. They should sit with their family during the service and the school staff in church will invite them up at the appropriate times.

Please click here to let us know if your child can attend

All Saints Community Fun Day

  • Date: Sunday 28th September 1.00pm - 4.00pm

The All Saints team will be holding a fun-filled event to which all our school families are invited. There will be lots of activities to enjoy and refreshments provided.  There is a leaflet containing full details at the bottom of the newsletter.

Meet the Teacher is held at the start of each new school year for parents in Years 1 and 2. It is a chance for the class teacher to introduce themselves to parents and tell you all about classroom expectations, the curriculum they will be teaching this year and some of the topics and activities the class will be doing.

The meeting will last around 30 minutes and will be held in your child's classroom. We regret that this is not an opportunity to have a conversation with the class teacher about any specific issues regarding your child.

Curriculum Information Sessions

  • Year 1 Wednesday 24th September
  • Year 2 Wednesday 1st October
