In school this week

It has been an incredible last full week of the school year with such a lot going on and there has been so much to celebrate!

We have celebrated how much the children have achieved this year. The end of year school reports were sent out on Wednesday and I hope that you agree, there has been so much progress made in all areas of the curriculum. If you haven't already acknowledged the receipt of your child's report, please do so here.

We have also celebrated achieving the Archbishop's Young Leaders award. This has been something that every child in the school has participated in. Thank you to the PFA for funding the resources for the award. It has been such a valuable learning experience for the children.

There are more things that we have celebrated this week in the news stories below.

Wishing you a restful weekend.

Legacy Books

It’s that special time of year again when we invite our Year 2 families to contribute a legacy book (or more!) in celebration of their child’s journey at our school.

Each donated book will be labelled to honour the donor, creating a lasting memory and a meaningful addition to our library. These books will play a vital role in enriching our Core Read Aloud programme and inspiring a lifelong love of reading in future pupils.

Year 1 news

Playground Leaders

Playground Leaders is an initiative which encourages children to build confidence and develop social and leadership skills. It is a chance for children to take responsibility and help other children and adults in school at lunchtime.

There are 3 main jobs the children will help with:

  • Looking after children in the quiet canopy area and Reflection areas
  • Leading the games in the playground
  • Leading activities in the playground

The children will be put on a rota and supported by all the midday supervisors on a daily basis, but overall they will be led by Mrs Simons, our midday supervisor coordinator.

All those children who have shown an interest in the role will be trained in the areas mentioned above initially in September and then will, by October half-term, have at least one lunchtime per week to support in the area they have been allocated to.

PFA news

Camp Night

Campers - your last chance for a good night's sleep is limited to the next 2 evenings! We're very excited to see you allo Saturday from 4pm. Please remember to take the time to read through the information that you have been sent and if we could ask that cars are parked overnight in the car park behind Gweneth Court with respect to our school neighbours. It's going to be great fun. We can't wait!

PFA AGM

Our PFA AGM took place on Wednesday evening at school. With our Treasurer (Lauren King) and Secretary (Charlotte Thomson) stepping down following the meeting

We have a great team and elected a full committee for next year and hope we can continue to bring you all some fun and enjoyable events and continue to raise vital funds for the school.

  • Co-Chair: Anjie Daden and Jodie Butler
  • Co-Treasurer: Hayley Smith and Delyth Simon
  • Co-Secretary: Blanche Brennan and Shannon Leahy-O’Neill

Some of your children's best memories from last year will have been because of the PFA, either through fundraising to pay for trips and experiences or events such as the Colour Run, discos, camp night, bake sales & treat days. If you can help make a difference, please join us for our first PFA fundraising meeting of the new term on Wednesday 24th September.

Thank you to Katie Fallows and her helpers who have organised this lovely little fundraiser.

Please note: if your child wasn’t there on the first day / started later during the school year, unfortunately there won’t be a photo - thank you for your understanding.
