Our Summer Fair last Saturday was a huge success! It was a real family occasion and I enjoyed seeing everyone having fun in the sunshine. There are some photos of the day linked to the news story below. The money raised will make a real difference to the school, so I would like to thank all those who contributed, and a special thanks go to the PFA team who organised the day. It was a huge amount of work for them, but given that they managed to raise £4,300, the hard work paid off!
On Tuesday morning, there was great excitement in school as all the children moved from their existing classes to meet their new teachers for next year. We also welcomed the new Reception children who will be starting school in September, and the Year 2s went to their new school too.
Continuing the theme of transition and moving on, the school was very busy for Open Afternoon. There were new and current families visiting and there was a real buzz as the children shared their classrooms and learning with their families. The children's dancing on the field afterwards was the icing on the cake. They were thrilled and excited to share the dances they have been learning as part of their PE lessons over the last term. Maypole Club and Sandygate Singers were brilliant as well.
Next Thursday, we will be taking part in Praise in the Park, which is another wonderful family occasion. We will be joining with other schools to sing and dance. Our theme is the Miracles of Jesus and every school will perform a representation of one of the miracles. Parents and carers can join us there, but we do need more helpers to walk down with each class, so please volunteer below if you can.
