In school this week

Our Summer Fair last Saturday was a huge success! It was a real family occasion and I enjoyed seeing everyone having fun in the sunshine. There are some photos of the day linked to the news story below. The money raised will make a real difference to the school, so I would like to thank all those who contributed, and a special thanks go to the PFA team who organised the day. It was a huge amount of work for them, but given that they managed to raise £4,300, the hard work paid off!

On Tuesday morning, there was great excitement in school as all the children moved from their existing classes to meet their new teachers for next year. We also welcomed the new Reception children who will be starting school in September, and the Year 2s went to their new school too.

Continuing the theme of transition and moving on, the school was very busy for Open Afternoon. There were new and current families visiting and there was a real buzz as the children shared their classrooms and learning with their families. The children's dancing on the field afterwards was the icing on the cake. They were thrilled and excited to share the dances they have been learning as part of their PE lessons over the last term. Maypole Club and Sandygate Singers were brilliant as well.

Next Thursday, we will be taking part in Praise in the Park, which is another wonderful family occasion. We will be joining with other schools to sing and dance. Our theme is the Miracles of Jesus and every school will perform a representation of one of the miracles. Parents and carers can join us there, but we do need more helpers to walk down with each class, so please volunteer below if you can.

We plan to return to school at around 11am. If your child has a litter pick and would like to bring it in to help, that would be much appreciated.

Summer Fair & Colour Run

Thank you to everyone who came along to the Summer Fair on Saturday. It was a glorious day, and we hope you and your families had a wonderful time. We are especially grateful to the volunteers who gave their time and made sure this lovely school community event was a success.

I think you'll agree our first Colour Run was a huge success, bringing excitement and joy to everyone involved! We had 160 children taking part in the run, which was an amazing number for our first year!

We would also like to thank the two parents whose companies were the sponsors of the Colour Run - Alchemy Virtual Assistance & SFI Advisory LTD, whose sponsorship covered the costs of all the paint and sunglasses at the event, allowing us to make this event even more profitable for the school.

A big thank you for making this event possible to Del, Hayley, Blanche and Jo. We raised a huge £4,300 in profit, which will make a big difference to the school and help us towards our target! THANK YOU!!

Open Afternoon

Thank you to those who were able to make the Open Afternoon. We hope you enjoyed visiting classrooms, old and new, and watching your little ones perform.

Thank you to Jodie Butler and her team of helpers who organised a tuck shop and pizza delivery for this lovely event.

First day of school memento for Year 2 Leavers

Year 2 parents are now able to order a JPEG of their child's first day at school on ParentPay for £4. It is a lovely memento of your child's time at Sandygate. You won't believe how much they've grown!

Thank you to Katie Fallows and her helpers who have organised this lovely little fundraiser.

Please note: if your child wasn’t there on the first day / started later during the school year, unfortunately there won’t be a photo - thank you for your understanding.

Camp Night

  • Date: Saturday 19th - Sunday 20th July

There are still some pitches left for this year's camp night.  Join us for a relaxed and fun camping experience like no other.

Pitch fee includes tent pitch on the field, hot drinks and a cereal/croissant breakfast. Pizzas will also be available to buy via ParentPay nearer to the time (estimated delivery at 5.30pm on Saturday). Please specify how many adults and children will be in your tent, and we ask you only bring your own children.
