Creative Week has been a huge success this week. This morning, in Celebration Worship, the children told me all about the Design & Technology projects that they have undertaken this week. They were keen to share how they had designed their item (Reception – bookmark, Year 1 – sewing a pencil case; Year 2 – weaving a basket) and made it. When I asked the Year 2s about what they found tricky, one answer was ‘Everything, but I persevered!’ All the children were enthusiastic about the learning and their finished products.
On Sunday, some of the children sang as part of the @10.59 service at All Saints Church. They were in fine voice and the congregation were thrilled to see them. The singing continued yesterday when the Year 1 children sang as part of their Act of Service to members of the local community. It was wonderful to see how much pleasure the audience gained from listening to and seeing the children.
Last week we raised a total of £208.30 for Refugee Week by selling items the children made. This money will go to Wycombe Refugee Partnership.
This week, I would like to welcome the parents and carers of children who will be starting with us in September. This will be their first newsletter of many!
I would also like to say thank you to all the parents who have been in school to help with a wide variety of activities this week–from the Year 1 Act of Service to helping with the Creative Week projects. There are so many ways that you have all helped to support the school this week and throughout the year, and this week has been no exception.
On Tuesday, the children will find their new classes for next year. We take this opportunity to mix children from Ants and Bees to create 2 new classes: Butterflies and Ladybirds. The mix of children in Year 1 will not be changed for their move to Year 2. Year 2 children who are going to Holy Trinity Junior School will be mixed and put into 3 class groups ready for their move. Holy Trinity will then add children from other schools starting with them in September to the 3 groups.
I am looking forward to the Summer Fair tomorrow. It looks like the weather is going to be fabulous, so do come along and join in the fun.
