6th June 2025

In school this week

Welcome back to the last half-term of the academic year! I hope that you had a good break. This half-term is going to be even more busy than usual, but we have lots of great learning and enrichment activities planned for the children.

Next week, we will be starting our transition activities in each group with lessons about change and moving on, in addition to the Year R and Year 1 children visiting classrooms in the next year group. On Tuesday and Thursday afternoons we also have children visiting school who will be starting with us in September.

The Year 1s were lucky with the weather on Wednesday for their trip to Waddesdon Manor. We can't say this about the weather yesterday for our Eco Day of Action. Our theme was the importance of water and there was plenty of it about! You can read about both these events below.

  • Tuesday 24th June
  • Friday 27th June
  • Tuesday 1st July

Summer Fair & Colour Run

  • Date: Saturday 28th June

Join us on Saturday 28th June from 11.30am-3pm for our jammed-packed Summer Fair!

We would be very grateful for donations for the adults' tombola. Please can these can be brought to school on Friday 20th June where, in return, the children can come to school in mufti on that day.

All this fun can’t go ahead without your help, so we would be very grateful if parents could consider giving up an hour of their time in support of the school.

Please sign up to help here: https://volunteersignup.org/73AFD

In order to raise as much as possible for the school, we have also set up a PFA Colour Run Sponsorship page where children have the option to create their own individual sponsorship pages alongside the main PFA page. This is optional, but it would be fantastic if you could encourage the children to raise sponsorship money from family & friends.

With a well-stocked bar & BBQ, there is no better place to enjoy the sunshine and let the kids go crazy with face painting, glitter tattoos and endless fun on the bouncy castle.

Tickets are now available on ParentPay!

Small Change Challenge

  • Date: June

Our small change challenge is well underway. Can your class collect the most small change? We would love your coins! Children are invited to bring in small change from home and pop it into the collection bucket in each classroom. The class that makes the most money by the end of June will win a mufti day!

Annual General Meeting

  • Date: Wednesday 16th July

The PFA AGM will be taking place on Wednesday 16th July at 7pm at school. This is a shorter meeting than usual, legally required to take place each year. We will have drinks and snacks to celebrate our achievements over the last year and would love to see as many people as possible.

We are lucky to have an active group of PFA members, but we do need a bit more support and would love to see some new faces. So come along and find out more about the fantastic events we have run this year!

Camp Night

  • Date: Saturday 19th - Sunday 20th July

Path of Positivity - UPDATE

A message from Colleen Stapley:

You may have noticed that we haven’t been able to paint this past month and the artist and I have only completed a mural and a half.  Unfortunately, this is due to loss of funding. The project is now community led by myself in collaboration with Marlow Football Club, as they own the wall and the land. It means that we are reaching out to the community and getting them excited and involved in funding and helping with the project.

But don’t worry, I am determined to finish the project - I made a promise and I intend to keep it for you and the betterment of the community.

Here is our GoFundMe link: https://gofund.me/0e0d5e3f it has more details about the project and sponsorship levels.

Please also follow our journey on Instagram: @the_path_of_positivity. We will be posting daily when we paint and will update you when your school's mural is being painted.

All Saints Marlow Quiz Night

We are having a big church quiz with food on Saturday 28th June. Invite your friends and neighbours!

Doors will open at 6pm, the first quiz rounds from 6:30pm, food at 7.00pm, then more rounds after everyone has eaten. Details of food in the link below. Teams will be up to 8 people on a table, and we will make sure everyone has a team to be part of. We don't want anyone to feel left out - so do feel able to come on your own, but also know you can bring all your neighbours too! It's a great outreach opportunity.

Tickets are £12 for 16+ years, £6 for under 16, and £5 for a non-food ticket. There will also be refreshments on sale. Any profits will go to this year's Marlow Lighthouse.
