In school this week

This week in school, the Year 2 children have been busy creating their sea creature sculptures in art. They enjoyed being able to model with clay, giving the creature features and adding texture. In Year 1, the children had a great time in their computing lessons - they have been using 2 Lego Builders on Purple Mash to create algorithms. The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson has been a key feature of the learning in Reception this week, and they have been role-playing and retelling the story in lessons and in play learning!

Today, I enjoyed seeing lots of different variations of red, white and blue for VE day. We even had 1940's victory rolls!

Next week, the donations requested by One Can Trust are below. In return, your child can come to school on Friday wearing a yellow accessory.

Brickies Lego Workshop

  • Date: Sunday 8th June

There’s still time to enrol in the Brick City Superhero Academy. Help Batman clean up Gotham City, join Iron Man as he gets The Avengers back together, take a ride with the DC Superhero Girls, swing through the streets of New York with Spiderman! This is a 90-minute LEGO building workshop, running from 3pm – 4:30pm on Sunday 8th June.

Limited tickets are £15 and are now available on ParentPay.

The Brickies format is a visual story presentation to children punctuated with several building challenges that link into the story. Brickies is all about promoting imagination and creativity. There are no instructions and there is no right way or wrong way to build something. We provide children with bundles of positive encouragement to be as creative as possible.

Each child will receive a Brickies certificate, a special edition Brickies badge and a little edible treat at the end of the workshop.
