13th December 2024

In school this week

We have had such positive feedback about the Nativity Plays – the children put on great performances every time, and I know you, as parents and carers, enjoyed yourselves. You will see below that we have a bundle of each performance with a photo of your child(ren) available to buy. Please see the item on ParentPay if you would like to order it.

The U3A members, who the Reception children visited yesterday, loved the children's singing – it certainly put them in a festive mood, and they all went away with smiles on their faces!

This morning we welcomed over 80 grandparents, residents from local retirement homes and members of the All Saints congregation to our annual Big Sing event. I was so impressed with how popular the event has become. The children rose to the occasion and sung their hearts out and their efforts were appreciated by the audience.

The school council is really pleased with how successful the collections for their chosen Christmas charities have been. They have been so keen to make a difference in some way.

I hope that you have a good weekend – I am sure that there are lots of Christmas activities planned.

Nativity bundle

We would like to remind you that we are offering families a chance to buy a digital photo of your child dressed in their nativity costume, together with a video link of your child's year group nativity performance.

Both nativities were videoed on Tuesday by a parent, Mr McGrath. This is the third year he has videoed the nativities for us, and I'm sure you will agree, he does a brilliant job!

Please order this bundle on ParentPay by Sunday 15th December.

Charity donation

After our nativity performances, we were collecting for a number of charities: Wycombe Homeless Connection and The Children's Society. If you didn't have any change with you, we would appreciate your donation on ParentPay.

Spring term club sign-ups

  • Dates: These clubs will start w/c 13th January

If you would like to sign your child up to any of our school-run clubs:

Please register here

We will let you know if your child is given a place and will try our best to offer all children at least one club. If your child has not been given a place in a club, they will be added to a waiting list and will be contacted should a place become available for them. They will also be on the list for next term.

The school-run clubs for KS1 are:

  • NEW - Book Club (only 10 spaces available)
  • Sandygate Stars
  • Mindful Colouring
  • Bible Bricks
  • Maypole (will continue with the same children)
  • Sandygate Singers (will continue with the same children)
  • Tidy Up Team (will continue with the same children, but there are a couple of spaces available)

There won't be Science Club during Spring 1, but it will return in Spring 2.

Reception children can now sign up to:

  • NEW - Art Club (only 8 spaces available)

This club is led by Mrs Madziwa, during Thursday lunchtime.

To book clubs run by external companies, you can find the list on our website here. Please contact them directly.

Morning snack

We ask parents to send in a small fresh or dried fruit snack or vegetable for their child to eat during break. For example, a small banana, a box of raisins or a pot of sugar snap peas. We have noticed a few children bringing in items that are not fruit or vegetable. From next term, any items other than fruit or vegetable, brought in for snack time, will be refused and sent home with the child at the end of the day.

MDSA vacancy

We currently have a Midday Supervising Assistant (MDSA) vacancy. We are looking to appoint a responsible and enthusiastic individual who will ensure the safety, welfare and good conduct of the children during the lunchtime period. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team working with happy and friendly children.

The full job description and details of how to apply can be found on the school website here.
