20th September 2024

In school this week

Today, the Reception children had their first celebration worship in the school hall! It was separate from the other year groups to help them get used to the space and the routines of collective worship. Next week, they will be joining the rest of the school - they are definitely ready for this as they are settling in so quickly.

The value home learning has gone live on Google Classrooms for all classes. All children are expected to complete this home learning. There are lots of discussion points about kindness to support the children's learning about the value, as well as some activities to complete. I am looking forward to seeing the friendship bracelets and 'crosswords' coming to school.

We currently have a vacancy for a parent governor on our governing body. Governors play an important role in the school, working closely with me and determining the strategic direction of the school. If this is something that you think that you would be interested in, please email the school office and I will be happy to answer any of your questions. You can find out more about our governing body here.

Harvest Festival

  • Date: Thursday 3rd October

We will be holding our Harvest Festival service twice in school, one at 9.00am-9.30am and the other at 2.30pm-3.00pm. The service will be led by Year 2 worship leaders and each year group will be singing a song that they will have practised over the preceding weeks.

In the past, this has always been a very popular service and, as space in our school hall is limited, we have had to hold the service twice to accommodate everyone who wished to attend.

We would like to ask all parents who would like to attend this service to book a session.

One Can Trust

We will be collecting items for One Can Trust during the week of 30th September for our Harvest offering. There will be boxes out at drop-off and pick-up all week. Please see below their priority list of items. If every child could bring in one tin or packet, then we would have 160 items to donate to One Can Trust, which would have a big impact. We will send out another reminder closer to the time.

Pick up & drop off - REMINDER

Please remember that children (and adults) should not be riding scooters or bikes on school grounds - please make sure that bikes and scooters are pushed until they are outside the main gates.

When on school grounds, children should be supervised by their adults at all times until they are handed over to school staff. Please do not allow children to run around at the front of school or on the field.

Holy Trinity Open Evening

  • Date: Tuesday 8th October 2pm-3pm & 5pm-7pm

Holy Trinity will be holding two sessions for prospective families. They will showcase the journey of moving up from KS1 to KS2, and it is an opportunity for parents/carers interested in applying to our school to see and find out more about our linked Junior School. Parents/Carers with children already at our school can also attend. For more information, please contact Holy Trinity.

Sandygate Sunday

  • Date: Sunday 29th September 11.00am-12 noon

Once a term, we are invited to take part in the 10.59 service at All Saints Church. Some of our pupils will read prayers they have written, and we lead the congregation in one of the songs we sing in school.

All Sandygate families are welcome to come along to the service. We ask that children wear their red jumpers/cardigans to identify them as Marlow Infant pupils. They should sit with their family during the service and the school staff in church will invite them up at the appropriate times. There will also be an All Saints Community Fun Day straight after the service. Please see the poster below.

This week, a message was sent to Year 2 parents and carers about an enrichment event that is taking place this half-term.
