Changes to school after half-term
This past half-term we have been constantly reviewing our risk assessment and the way our school has been operating under COVID restrictions and we are now making a few changes after the half-term break which are detailed below
Reception parents have already had a letter detailing changes to drop-off and pick-up arrangements so that both Reception classes arrive and leave school at the same time. We would ask all parents to continue to observer Government guidelines when arriving and leaving the school site: do not gather in groups of more than 6, maintain social distancing of at least 2 metres, wear a face-covering if appropriate.
School Bags
When we return to school on 2nd November we will be happy for children to begin bringing their red school bags. As the weather gets colder we appreciate they may have gloves, scarves and hats to carry in addition to other items and using their school bags will make this easier. The only items children need to have in their bag are: reading record, reading book, fruit snack, gloves/hats/scarves they should not have toys, hand sanitiser or any other items from home.
Reading records & Reading books
Reading records should be brought into school every day and children will be given the opportunity to change their reading books on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Library days remain unchanged.
Outdoor Learning
We will continue with outdoor learning without asking for additional outdoor clothes next half term. However, Reception and Year 1 should bring a pair of named wellington boots in to school on the first day of term to be left in school. We would also remind parents that children should have appropriate outdoor coats for the weather as they will continue to have outdoor play and lessons whatever the weather.
