23rd July 2024

In school this week

What an incredible year it has been, so much to look back on and celebrate. Now is the time to take advantage of the break to reflect on the successes of the year and look forward to all the exciting plans we have ahead of us.

During our End of Year service this morning, we were able to celebrate everything the year has held for us, as a school family. The Year 2 children shared their memories of their 3 years with us, and we were able to mark the progress that all the children have made over the last 12 months. We are sad that the Year 2 children are moving on, but I know that there are so many opportunities opening up for them, and that we at Marlow C of E Infant School have given them some very solid foundations on which to build.

Our wonderful staff have, as always, worked their wonders, and I am so proud to be part of such a dedicated team. As we wind down now for the summer break, they are already planning the learning for their new classes. I would like to thank them for their support and hard work over the last year. Mrs Mitchell, will, as you know, not be with us in September. She will be busy preparing for the birth of her first child. I wish her and Mr Mitchell well - they have exciting times ahead of them. We will miss Mrs Mitchell around school, but we look forward to welcoming her back in the future.

I would like to thank all of our school families for their support and love over the year. The gifts that you have showered us with this week are so thoughtful, and we are all thankful for your generosity. I feel blessed by your kind words. Wishing you a happy and restful summer!

Mrs S Reynolds

First day of school memento for Year 2 Leavers

Thank you to Katie Fallows who made the year 2 parents feel nostalgic for how tiny our kids once were! Such a thoughtful idea that Katie came up with last year, and has agreed to continue to run both this year and next and raised £125 for the school.

End of term ice creams

A huge thank you to Gabby McMillan who organised today's end of term ice creams, and to her helpers Gemma Patterson, Helen Gallop and Ester Verges.

New parents coffee morning

New parents can drop into the school hall straight after drop off on Monday 9th September for a coffee. It's a great opportunity to meet other new parents and shed those first day school nerves.

Thank you

It's been a jam-packed year for the PFA, running 37 school events and helping school with another 8 community events; there were too many to fit into the picture!

We've made some great memories and raised an astounding £28,000 which has done some incredible things for our children at school.

The PFA would like to wish you all a very happy summer break. For the year 2 families moving on to new schools - we will miss you! To the new families joining us in September, welcome, we can't wait to say hello!
