In school this week

On Tuesday morning, sitting in my office, I heard the first Christmas songs being sung in school this year! It is a real sign that the Christmas Season is approaching and the children's voices sounded beautiful as they drifted in from the Hall. There is so much planned over the coming 5 weeks in the build up to Christmas, I am sure that the half-term will fly by.

Next week is a prime example, with Safety Day, Anti Bullying Week and Children in Need, there are lots of important activities going on as well as the curriculum learning.

You may have noticed the MDSA adverts in the Newsletters over the past weeks. This week two of our Midday supervisors have left - Mrs Smith and Mrs Bower. We wish them well in their new ventures and I would like to thank them for their dedication to the team and the school. This of course, leaves us a little short, so if you think this is something that you might be interested in, please contact the school office. If you would like to know more, talk to Mrs Downing, Mrs SImons or me.

We have just held a very moving Remembrance Service in school. The year 2 children shared the poem In Flanders Fields, by John McCrae, that they had been practising. We also learned why we buy poppies and reflected about how to help people in need.
