September Opening Risk Assessment
We have worked hard to ensure that our school site is COVID secure and have used all the latest Government Guidance, our knowledge of the school site and understanding of the needs of our pupils, staff, parents and wider community to write our risk assessment. This risk assessment will be reviewed regularly and updated if necessary as a result of the review or if there are changes in Government Guidance.
The principal behind planned opening of Marlow C of E Infant School in September 2020, is to use the natural layout of the school to determine the size of the ‘bubbles’ in which the children will learn.
Reception will continue in class bases of 30 but will interact throughout the day in a free flow learning environment following the principles of the Foundation Stage curriculum. This means that the Reception year group will therefore be a bubble of 60 children.
Key Stage 1 year groups will form the second bubble in school although we will aim to minimise contact between the two year groups. Year 1 classes will interact during playtimes and lunch and will remain separate from the Year 2 classes; Year 2 classes will interact during playtimes and lunch and will remain separate from Year 1 classes. There are some facilities that the both year groups will need to share due to the layout of our school site but this sharing will be transitory and we aim to ensure that the children from each Key Stage 1 year group do not have any close contact.
