Ensure every child feels nurtured, supported and safe

During Lockdown 1 our Staff team at Sandygate continued to work in school and at home to support all our pupils. Teachers worked in shifts to provide lessons for the Key worker and Vulnerable children who attended school throughout Lockdown, Teaching Assistants supported them and also led 'Holiday Club' style activities through the 2020 Easter and May half term holidays.

They shared pictures of themselves and their families in school and at home with our pupils and their families via our Home Learning platform and the weekly School Newsletter which continued to be sent every Friday.

As well as this, they developed Home Learning Activities and communicated with pupils via our online platforms to ensure they all remained connected. Many of the staff recorded themselves reading stories which were posted on our website for the children to listen to and we also produced the video below of our staff performing the actions to 'Our God is a Great Big God' which is one of our favourite songs at Sandygate. This video was also posted on our website so that the children in Lockdown 1 at home could sing along.
