Remembrance Day 2022

Remembrance Service in School, Friday 11th November 2022

Today we marked Remembrance Day with a special service in school. The children learned all about why poppies are used to help us remember and what happens to the money that is donated when people buy poppy merchandise. The Year 2 children, who have been learning about World War I, shared some of the things that they have learned about the War and the war memorial that they are going to visit on Monday.

The poem In Flanders Fields by John McCrae was recited by the Year 2s, and we also heard it sung to music. The Reception children made Poppy biscuits, and you can see also see the poppy pebbles below that the Year 2 children have painted.

You can view the pictures from the service here.
