Marlow Church of England Infant School

History Day

History Day at Marlow C of E Infant School - 1st April 2022

The children were all invited to come into school dressed as an historical figure and so the school was host to Albert Einstien, Amelia Earhart, Suffragettes, Florence Nightingale, Crusaders, Romans and many more wonderful characters.

This week the children have been thinking about things to go into 3 time capsules, one prepared by each year group, which were buried today around a new cherry tree which was planted on Monday. The children have written about what life is like in school now, drawn pictures of their favourite toys and we have put in photographs of school taken today and timetables showing what they have been learning this week. We hope that pupils attending our school in 25 years time will find these of interest.

This afternoon we had some visitors from Marlow Museum who came in to talk about the museum and some of the items that can be seen there. They also spoke about some major significant events in History that had an impact in Marlow. David Part from the museum then interviewed some of our children live on Wycombe Sound at 3.20pm - if you didn't catch it live then you should be able to get it on their Listen Again service
