A Wartime Experience for Year 2

Wycombe Museum visit Year 2 – Thursday 27th November
This week, Year 2 enjoyed a fascinating visit from Wycombe Museum, bringing history to life in an unforgettable way. The children learned all about what life was like for children during World War II — from being evacuated to living with new families for safety. They explored air raid shelters, role-played responding to an air raid siren, and discovered how rationing worked during the war.
To make the experience even more special, the museum brought along real artefacts! The children were amazed to hold an 85-year-old ration book and see an authentic WWII gas mask up close. It was a hands-on, immersive session that helped the children truly understand what life was like during those challenging times.
