Last week was Creative Week, and this year we focused on creativity through Design and Technology. All year groups were provided with an opportunity to follow the design process from research and experimentation through to making, decorating and finally assessing their projects.

Each year group looked at a textile-based project and thought about how to attach items to fabric. Reception created a sturdy bookmark, Year 1 joined fabric to create a pouch that they could store things in, and Year 2 weaved fabric and paper to create a basket to hold things in.

Since this was a Design & Technology-based project, we focused on each design being 'fit for purpose' and encouraged children to look at their designs and the practicality of their creations. 

We would like to thank the parents and grandparents who came to school to help the Year 1 children with their sewing.
