Wittenham Clumps

Year 2 visits Wittenham Clumps - Wednesday 14th May

Year 2 visited Wittenham Clumps, Earth Trust yesterday. They had a fabulous day in the sunshine and enjoyed investigating how the weather was different at the top of the hill when compared to that at the bottom. The children also did some wonderful field sketches and enjoyed finding different landmarks.

The ‘clumps’ of beech trees, which crown both hills and after which the place is named, are the oldest known planted hilltop beeches in England, dating back over 300 years!

A big thank you to all the parent helpers who joined us on the trip.
