Remembrance Day

11th November 2016
We have been marking Remembrance Day in school this week and the school councillors have been busy selling poppies and other items in aid of the Royal British Legion.
In Year 2 the focus has been on learning about Remembrance Day, the origins and the reasons why we use poppies as a symbol of Remembrance. In art the children are creating their own version of Monet's Poppy fields and they have also created a wonderful Remembrance display for the hall. They are now all prepared for their walk to the War Memorial on Tuesday!
