Little Leaders Day

17th October 2018
Year 2 spent the day learning about leadership in preparation for the children taking on their new roles as playground leaders. Mrs Higham (playground lead) took the children and showed them how to play the lunchtime games. This will be one of their roles when they begin the job. From this we all had a think about what a good leader is - thinking of all the examples we see at school and home. The children then complete a job application to become a playground leader, thinking about the qualities they have. We even interviewed some of them for the post!
We were also lucky to have Al Hill from Opposquads in to run some outdoor activities with the children, giving them lots of opportunities to show confidence and leadership skills. Thank goodness the rain held off for most of it!
We would like to say a really big thank you to the parents who came and braved the damp conditions to help us out during the day, it was very much appreciated.
